Space for Remembering and Healing was a project I developed in 2024 through the Irish Hospice Foundation Seeds Grant programme. It took place in a Clare care home, where I worked with residents and staff to create a gentle space for remembering, connection, and reflection.
Using visual art, storytelling, and playful methods such as LEGO, we explored how creative activity can open space for shared memories and quiet moments of expression. The project grew from my interest in how imagination and symbolism can help us approach experiences of loss and presence in everyday care settings.
Through this process, I aimed to understand how small acts of making together can support healing—not by offering resolution, but by allowing memory, emotion, and relationship to find form.
